Many are the plans in a mans heart BUT it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
I reckon that it’s so cool to have heaps of ideas and plans. I want to do . . . . I want to go . . . I would love to do . . . I think if we can make . . . . . we should plan to create . . . . prepare . . . set focus on . . . implement.
I think plans are great . . ideas are inspiring. Making a difference with our life, wanting to see justice prevail and seeing the fact our life mattered because we cared for someone. GREAT. It’s brilliant to plan things, plan many things, many thoughts, many ideas . . . . however.
Hold onto them lightly, our whiff of a life is but a moment in History . . . the overriding fact is God’s purpose will last and be completed. Sure we have a part to play in this because our efforts can have a very long lasting impact on generations to follow . . . . have faith in God.

I read through Ecclesiates again this morning; and just absolutely, completely love it. It starts with this devotion of the Teacher to study and explore by wisdom AAALLLLLLL that is done under heaven.
Thats a pretty big topic! and comments in Chapter 1 that it is as chasing after the wind. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow, the more knowledge, the more grief . .
Pleasures are meaningless - I think we could understand this if we stepped off the rat-race and reviewed purpose.
Wisdom AND folly are meaningless - I think we could get understanding of this if we looked at the fact our short life ends the same - we will all die whether wise or a fool; and that it won’t be long after this appointment we will be forgotten.
Toil is meaningless - I think we could grasp this; if we toil without relationship what is the point?
Advancement is meaningless - better a poor but wise youth, than an old but follish king who no longer knows how to take warning - selah.
Riches are meaningless - Read Chapter 5:8-20 . . great perspective.
Now all has been heard (closing words from the Teacher) here is the conclusion of the matter.
FEAR GOD and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS for this is the WHOLE DUTY of MAN. For GOD WILL BRING EVERY DEED into JUDGEMENT, INCLUDING EVERY HIDDEN THING, whether it is GOOD or EVIL.
Anyway, I love Ecclesiates; it’s good perspective.

I have been constantly thinking about John 2 since we had a Central Prayer Meeting about 10 days ago. I certainly don’t think that God wants me to let it go just at the moment.
These are my initial thoughts. Obedience to His mother - my time has not yet come?! But Jesus moved because of what his mother said.
Water jars - water signifying mass of people; jars the container. I keep referring to the church being the container; the water being the people . . .
In the last days the presence of God will be the best people have ever tasted - taste and see the Lord is good! It will be the best - it is not until the water is drawn that it was wine! We want the wine in the container to make sure it is good - but it is only good to those who are guests that taste it.
He thus revealed his glory - I believe there is a greater measure of God’s glory coming; and his disciples put their faith in him - faith is on the rise . . .
My thoughts and take on it at the moment - I know there is way more in this passage.

Love this passage of Scripture that has now come through a few times with this series on ‘In Sprit and Truth’. There are so many applications for this passage . . . been thinking about the purpose of 7pm ministry service; thinking about the challenge of the messages how that they all tie in . . .
Interesting - Mark 9 starts with the transfiguration . . . in short Peter, James and John with Jesus go up a mountain and talk with Moses and Elijah - the Glory of God is so incredible etc . . . so Peter says - this is great - lets contain it, lets camp here, lets keep this! So God says This is my Son whom I love. Listen to him!.
So Jesus leads them down the mountain to where we come across the boy possessed -Jesus sets the boy free.
The thought I have had is this - We want the glory of the mountain top; but we have to realise the need is in the valley! do not camp there on the mountain - walk in the power!

I have been mulling over this thought about NOTHING for a while now. So often we fall into that thinking ‘Nothing will happen if I pray for that person, nothing happened when I did; nothing’s going to change if I do this or that; if I step out to maybe an altar-call; nothing will happen’.
I had this revelation; if you do something then nothing is impossible. Something will and has happened because you did something! BUT nothing happened; no that’s impossible - God can’t do nothing; nothing is impossible for God so something happened. Believe in faith that when you pray for someone; when you give something; when you smile at somebody - SOMETHING has happened by faith.
Just a thought - Aussie was great; Ps Phil and Lenore Camden at Church 180 are doing an incredible work for Jesus.

is so exciting . . . sitting in my office; with a bit of time between appointments; i keep thinking about this point - imagine if we came to service with the same expectation that we do in the 7pm? . . . . expectation attracts the presence of God! We all want more of God sure; but imagine if we even had that when we opened our Bible to read it! or opened our mouth to pray! or opened our ears to listen! . . . I’m off to Ps Phil Camdens this weekend - very exciting. Might update the blog while away!

There is a growing enthusiasm and expectation within me about what is happening at LIFE! This Sunday, all day, was quite special. I don’t know if it is just me seeing differently or what; but there seems to be a thread of grace and favour flowing through the church. Sunday night 7pm was exceptional; definitely God’s presence was there and I think this is because people are genuinely hungry for more of Him. The purpose of the 7pm however is to be a catalyst in people’s lives that would ignite each heart to continue to seek God’s presence in our everyday life . . . we should keep them going! Its the cry and desire – however I don’t think that is the answer; you see revival is not based around an event / meeting or service – it is actually sparked within the human spirit in a authentic and genuine hunger for God. The challenge with us in our human nature is establishing dependency through religion and looking outside ourselves at events to fuel our life rather than the giver of life Himself that resides within each and every believer. Hence when the ‘meetings’ stop; so does the seeming revival we once thought we had. A challenge because the event within itself is powerful, meaningful and amazing – just my heart on where we are right now . . .
