Building authentic friendships

Whatever age and stage you are, there's a Group with people like you.

Groups are the backbone of church life, making sure that big services on a Sunday are always paired with authentic connection throughout the week. With hundreds of Groups meeting across the city and online, we know you'll find one you love.

What is a Group?

Groups create a space for people to intentionally share their lives with others, grow spiritually together, and encourage each other through the highs and lows of life. A Group Leader determines how often their group meets and what the focus of the group is. Groups gather in homes, coffee shops, and other places where people love to connect—including online.

What do you do in a Group?

Every Group is unique. Some discuss the weekend message or do a Bible Study together, some serve together in the community, and some play board games or paddleboard once a month. Two things you’ll find in every Group, though, are relationships and conversations that help people grow in their faith.

How do I join a Group?

Find a Group that you like in our Groups Finder! Send a message through the Groups Finder. That’s it! The Group leader will get back to you with more information.

What is it like to be in a Group?

Hear what some Group members have to say below:

I don’t feel judged, I feel I’m among genuine men, not pretenders. People share about their everyday day wins and struggles. While we seek God’s guidance and his will and plan for our lives. It’s a highlight for me every fortnight.

I love group, because it’s a great way to connect with other young adults, mid-week, when life is happening, works busy and you just want to have some good, genuine conversations and laughs, with a great group of people! It’s been awesome getting involved in group and I’ve really enjoyed the discussions we’ve had about Jesus and the Bible.

What I enjoy about being part of our Business Group is everyone is willing to help each other. The diversity in the group makes it entertaining. We have trust in each other and everyone can share their stories and successes. I like that everyone is respectful and willing to help you succeed.

We have gone through so many studies since the start of this Group. One of my favourites is the “Armor of God” by Priscilla Shirer. Group has not only helped me learn more about the Bible and grow in my relationship with Jesus but it’s also kept me going, knowing that there’s a group of God fearing women I can confidently turn to for prayers when I hit various obstacles in life. The cool thing is God has always come through every single time I hit up my ladies for prayers.

For me, Groups are the ideal place to build closer connections which in turn follows onto a more personal exchange. This allows me to be supportive in difficult situations as well as being supported when there is need in my life. No doubt I love the social connection, as well and just having fun with like-minded people. I would highly recommend getting involved.

Can I change Groups after attending one?

Yes, we encourage you to check out a few groups to find the right fit for you. Don’t feel bad if you don’t choose the first one you visit, just let the leaders know when you get in contact that you are trying a few groups to find the right one for you.
