STATION FOUR: COMMUNION
The final station brings the cross to the forefront, meditating over the death and resurrection of Jesus.
The temptation might be to rush through this station, but we would encourage you to take it slowly, sink deep into the awe of the cross and dwell in the richness of grace we have through Jesus.
After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, ‘take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.’ And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘this cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.’
RESPOND
If you have time prior, we'd encourage you as a household to prepare and bake the bread together. As the aroma of the baking bread fills you home, allow it to elevate the sacred nature of communion, preparing your hearts to journey through The Watch and take communion together

Read Luke 22:19
Hold the bread in your hands
Take a moment to remember Jesus and thank Him for the sacrifice He made in facing death for our sins before you eat the bread
Read Mark 14:23-25
Hold your cup of grape juice
Before drinking your grape juice, take a moment to think about your relationship with God and thank Jesus that the blood He shed at the cross is a symbol of a new covenant between us and God. This new covenant means we no longer need to perform rituals of sacrifice to enter God’s presence, we are able to come directly to Him through a relationship with His Son, Jesus.
