Day 4

God's Word

Scripture

For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the Word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the Word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13

Thought

The Word of God is holy and set apart. Written down by men, it came from the Creator as divinely inspired wisdom that reveals the heart of the Father. As we read scripture, we need to remain aware of what it is we’re reading. It is not just words on a page but the very breath of God captured in text. It is alive and it brings new life to us.

Ponder

Consider slowing down in your Bible reading. Rather than reading to get through the day’s allotted chapter, sit and meditate where God leads your attention. Read to see God, not just to read about Him.

Pray

Father God, as I open Your Word today I ask that You would speak to me. Let my mind be attuned to Your voice and my eyes opened to what You want me to see. Let my ears be sensitive to Your teaching and my heart open and ready to receive You. Remove any barriers in me that might prevent me from connecting with You. Take me deeper with You today, Father. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
